Having trained and qualified as a Chartered
Accountant, Les has been a Director at Hale & Co since 1985 and Managing
Director since 2000.
||Jake Hale BSc MSc MILT (Director
Jake returned to Hale & Co in 2011 to develop the new Tool Hire venture
after 6 and a half successful years working for the Logistics Function of
Rolls-Royce plc in Derby. He became General Manager in 2012 and is now in
overall control of the day-to-day running of the business (including Staff
Deployment, Asset Management, Site Development and Customer Service). He
became a Director in December 2014.
||Sam Hale BA MSc
Sam has extensive experience in the allied business discipline of
Historic Building Consultancy having worked for CgMs in Cheltenham,
Ty-Mawr Lime in Brecon and Hook Mason Architecture in Hereford. Now a Free
Lance Consultant, Sam divides his time between this and Hale & Co. Sam
provides valuable in-house advice and expertise when it comes to supplying
appropriate building materials for older properties and assists with our
Electronic Media & Customer Relationship Management Activities.
||Mike Bennett (Company Operations
Mike has extensive experience of the Builders
Merchants' industry and was instrumental in the successful
transition to computerised point of sale invoicing at Hale & Co. As
Operations Manager he is in overall control of the smooth running of all
business processes (including Accounts & Contracts Administration, I.T. and
Buying Group Activities).
BA (Company Strategy Manager)
Neal is responsible for all aspects of developing our strategy to
maintain and improve our position as the Forest of Deans and Wye Valleys
leading Independent Builders Merchant always delivering outstanding customer
||Wayne Long (Yard
Wayne is the single point of contact in the yard for staff, customers
and suppliers. He orchestrates the balancing act of servicing suppliers,
customers and our own deliveries. He is available, on the spot, to answer
questions and queries and to handle issues and feedback. He manages the team
to react to fluctuations in customer volumes to ensure that we always have
the right resources where we need them.
||Nigel Britter (Marketing
& Merchandising Manager)
Nigel coordinates selling the benefits of Hale & Co. to our current and
prospective customers via events, print, electronic and social media. Nigel is
also responsible for overall Company Health & Safety and Events Management.
||Adrian Warren (Sales Manager)
Adrian is responsible for all aspects of our Office-Based Sales
(Customer Relationship Manager)
Ably assisted by Stuart Murphy, Helen is responsible for all aspects of
our Field Sales Operation.
||Kevin Steer (Kitchens &
Kevin is responsible for all aspects of the Kitchens & Bathrooms
Department including Customer Service, Designs and Ordering. He is supported
by Darren Gwilliam in the role of Showroom Manager.
||Rik Sladen (Accounts Manager)
Rik is responsible for all aspects of the Accounts Office including
Payments, Credit Control, Data, Stock and Sales Analysis.
||Jason Howell (Hire Manager)
Jason is responsible for all aspects of the Hire Department including
Customer Service, Fleet Maintenance & Renewal.
